Translation

Now, O Supreme Lord, as Thou hast thus described Thyself, O Supreme Person, I wish to behold Thy divine form.

Philosophical Significance

Core Meaning

Arjuna, having heard Krishna describe His cosmic nature, expresses a deep, simple desire: he wants to directly see the divine form. This shows the natural human longing to move from hearing about truth to actually experiencing it.

His request also shows humility and trust. He asks, not demands, because direct experience of the divine comes through inner readiness and the grace of the teacher or God.

Philosophically, the verse points to the difference between intellectual knowledge and living vision. True spiritual sight is not just information but a shift in the heart that lets us recognize the sacred unity behind all forms.

Life Application

  • Make time each day for quiet attention (short prayer, meditation, or mindful breathing) to open your heart to direct experience rather than only ideas.
  • Approach spiritual learning with humility: study, ask sincere questions, and accept guidance from a teacher or inner wisdom.
  • Practice seeing the divine in ordinary people and tasks by treating others kindly and doing work with care and presence.

Reflection Question

Do I long for a real inner experience of the divine, and what small step can I take today to open myself to it?
