Philosophical Significance
Core Meaning
Krishna uses the image of womb and seed to show that all life has a single origin. The great material field (the womb) receives the seed of divine will, and from that union every living form comes into being.
Philosophically this says God is both the source of material nature and the active cause that sparks life. Nothing arises outside that divine play of nature and consciousness.
This view invites us to see life as continuous and connected. Individual forms change, but their origin and sustaining force remain one, so the apparent separation between beings is ultimately an appearance.
Life Application
- Remember that your actions plant seeds: act with care, because small choices shape future life and relationships.
- Practice humility and non-attachment by seeing yourself and others as part of a larger whole, not as isolated egos.
- Treat others with respect and compassion, since every person and creature shares the same source.
Reflection Question
If you felt that every living being came from the same source, how would you act differently today?
