Translation

Wherever Krishna, the Lord of Yoga, is; and wherever Arjuna, the wielder of the bow, is; there is prosperity, victory, happiness, and a firm policy; this is my conviction.

Philosophical Significance

Core Meaning

This verse says that when divine wisdom (Krishna, the teacher of yoga) and skilled, devoted action (Arjuna, the archer) come together, the result is victory, well-being, joy, and steady right conduct. It points to the power of combining inner guidance with courageous, focused effort.

On a deeper level, "Krishna" stands for higher wisdom, conscience, or spiritual truth, and "Arjuna" stands for the willing, skillful doer. Where understanding and right effort work together, life moves toward lasting good instead of short-term gain.

The line also affirms trust in dharma: wise leadership and committed practice create stable, ethical outcomes. This is a practical rule — not just a promise — about how to bring success and peace into life.

Life Application

  • Before big choices, bring calm clarity or trusted guidance (study, prayer, mentor) and then act decisively with skill and discipline.
  • Balance knowing and doing: learn principles, then apply them consistently in daily work and relationships.
  • Prefer steady, honest policies over quick fixes; long-term integrity builds real prosperity and peace.

Reflection Question

Where can I invite wisdom and committed action to work together in my life today?
