Translation

Thou art the Father of this world, both moving and unmoving. Thou art to be adored by this world; Thou, the greatest Guru; for none exists who is equal to Thee; how then could there be another superior to Thee in the three worlds, O Being of unrivaled power?

Philosophical Significance

Core Meaning

This verse shows the Divine as the source and parent of everything that moves (life) and does not move (matter). It asks us to recognize that the whole world rests in a single, supreme being who deserves respect and devotion.

Calling the Divine the greatest teacher (guru) reminds us that true guidance comes from a wisdom beyond our small egos. If there is one ultimate power and teacher, then our claims of being superior or fully in control are limited and humble surrender makes sense.

Spiritually, the verse points to unity behind diversity: all roles, beings, and forces are expressions of the same Reality. Knowing this helps us live with reverence, inner calm, and right action instead of pride or fear.

Life Application

  • Begin the day by acknowledging a higher presence or purpose to reduce anxiety and sharpen focus.
  • Treat teachers, elders, and inner conscience with respect as channels of higher guidance; listen before reacting.
  • When proud or stuck, remind yourself that you are part of a larger whole—this reduces ego-driven choices and opens better responses.

Reflection Question

Where in my life can I more clearly recognize and follow a higher guidance instead of relying only on my own will?
