Chapter 13 Verse 18
Kṣhetra Kṣhetrajña Vibhāg Yog
ज्योतिषामपि तज्ज्योतिस्तमसः परमुच्यते।ज्ञानं ज्ञेयं ज्ञानगम्यं हृदि सर्वस्य विष्ठितम्।।13.18।।
jyotiṣhām api taj jyotis tamasaḥ param uchyate jñānaṁ jñeyaṁ jñāna-gamyaṁ hṛidi sarvasya viṣhṭhitam

Translation
That Light of all lights is said to be beyond darkness: knowledge, the knowable, and the goal of knowledge, seated in the hearts of all.

This verse points to a single inner Light that outshines all darkness. It is the source that removes ignorance and reveals truth. That Light is not just a concept: it is the living presence at the center of every being.
Krishna says this Light plays three roles: it is the knowing power that illuminates, it is the real thing to be known (the true Self), and it is the goal we seek when we pursue wisdom. In short, real knowledge is an inner awakening that frees us from confusion and rests in the heart of everyone.
Because this Light dwells in all, spiritual practice is not about acquiring facts but about opening to what is already present inside us and others.
