Translation

Thus, I have imparted to you this most secret science, O sinless one; by knowing this, one becomes wise, and all their duties are accomplished, O Arjuna.

Philosophical Significance

Core Meaning

Here Krishna says he has given the deepest teaching — a spiritual science that changes how you see life. It is called "most secret" because it points to the inner truth beyond outward appearances.

When you truly understand this wisdom you become wise (buddhi-mān). Wisdom here means the power to see what really matters, to choose right action, and to stay steady amid success and failure.

Knowing this teaching leads to completing your necessary tasks (kṛita-kṛitya). That does not only mean doing more things, but doing the right things with clarity, without being driven by fear or selfish desire.

This verse points to inner transformation: knowledge turns activity into spiritual work, and duty becomes a means to grow rather than to win or lose.

Life Application

  • Read or reflect on one short teaching each day and ask how it changes your view of a current problem.
  • Do your work fully and with care, but let go of constant worry about the outcome; focus on effort, not on reward.
  • Before acting, take a moment to check whether the choice arises from lasting values or from short-term impulses.

Reflection Question

How would your daily actions change if you acted from inner clarity rather than from anxiety about results?
