Translation

Fix your mind on Me, be devoted to Me, sacrifice to Me, bow down to Me. You will come to Me; I truly promise you this, for you are dear to Me.

Philosophical Significance

Core Meaning

Krishna asks you to keep your mind fixed on the divine, to live with love and devotion, to offer your actions as a sacrifice, and to bow in humility. This means turning attention and will away from distraction and toward a steady, loving connection with what is highest.

This devotion is not only about outward ritual. It is an inner attitude — remembering the divine in daily life, offering the fruits of your work, and letting go of selfish attachment.

Because you turn to the divine in this way, Krishna promises a personal return to that source. The verse assures you that a devoted, surrendered heart is welcomed and guided home.

Life Application

  • Begin each day with a short moment of focus: dedicate your tasks to a higher purpose or say a brief prayer to set your intention.
  • Before and after work, remind yourself the results are not only for you; do the work well but release attachment to outcomes.
  • Keep one simple devotional habit (a short reading, a chant, a gesture of gratitude) to steady your attention and humility.

Reflection Question

What one ordinary action today can I dedicate to a higher purpose and let go of its results?
