Translation

There is no one among men who does service dearer to Me, nor shall there be anyone on earth dearer to Me than him.

Philosophical Significance

Core Meaning

Krishna says that a person who serves him with sincere devotion is the most beloved to him. No one among people can be dearer to God than that devoted person.

This teaching points to inner loyalty and love, not to outward rank or ritual. True closeness to the Divine grows from steady, selfless service and right intention.

It also elevates ordinary duty: when you act with a spirit of offering and love, your daily work becomes a way to be close to God and to live a meaningful life.

Life Application

  • Turn one regular task each day into an offering: do it mindfully and without attachment to results.
  • Treat people you meet as chances to serve; kindness and honesty are small acts of devotion.
  • Choose steady, humble practice (prayer, meditation, helpful work) over showy or sporadic gestures.

Reflection Question

Who do I really serve when I act — myself, others, or something greater?
