Translation

Has this been heard, O Arjuna, with one-pointed focus? Has the delusion of your ignorance been destroyed, O Dhananjaya?

Philosophical Significance

Core Meaning

Krishna asks if Arjuna has listened with a calm, one-pointed mind. True hearing is not casual; it needs full attention to reach the heart.

When a teaching is received in that way, the fog of ignorance and delusion begins to lift. Delusion here means mistaken ideas about yourself, life, and duty that keep you tied to worry and wrong choices.

This verse teaches that knowledge must be internalized to free you. Hearing should lead to inner clarity and right action, not just intellectual information.

Life Application

  • When you study spiritual teachings, put away distractions and read or listen with full attention for a few focused minutes.
  • Use short daily reflection or quiet time to test what you learned—notice if old fears or wrong assumptions are changing.
  • Turn one clear insight into action each day (a kinder response, a calmer choice) to make knowledge real and remove confusion.

Reflection Question

Have I listened with full attention so my confusion can begin to clear?
