Translation

The Blessed Lord said, "O Arjuna, hear how you shall, without doubt, know Me fully, with your mind intent on Me, practicing Yoga and taking refuge in Me."

Philosophical Significance

Core Meaning

Here the Lord tells Arjuna to listen to how he can fully know God. Knowing God is not only thinking about Him; it is a lived experience reached by steady inner turning.

The verse points to three supports: a mind attached to God, regular practice of yoga (a steady spiritual discipline), and taking refuge in the Lord—sincere surrender. Together these remove doubt and open clear, direct knowledge.

This teaches that spiritual knowing grows from focused attention, consistent practice, and trust. When the heart and life align toward the Divine, understanding becomes natural and practical.

Life Application

  • Begin a brief daily practice (prayer, breath awareness, or reading) and return to it even when distracted. Small steady steps matter.
  • Make one daily action an offering: do it with full attention and a sense of service, which trains the mind to stay connected.
  • When fear or doubt arise, choose trust: pause, remember your practice, and recommit rather than being pulled into worry.

Reflection Question

Where can I gently place my attention each day to build steady trust and inner knowing?
