Translation

Do not be afraid, nor be bewildered on seeing such a terrible form of Mine; with your fear dispelled and with a gladdened heart, now behold again this former form of Mine.

Philosophical Significance

Core Meaning

Krishna comforts Arjuna after showing him a terrifying universal form. He tells him not to be afraid or confused by what he saw.

The verse teaches that the divine can appear both awe-inspiring and gentle. Fear comes from a limited view; when fear is let go, we can receive peace and see the loving aspect again.

Philosophically, this means truth is bigger than our shock. Face what is powerful or painful with steadiness, and you will reconnect with compassion and clarity.

Life Application

  • When a sudden, overwhelming situation shocks you, pause, breathe, and remind yourself not to react from panic.
  • Use a short calming practice (quiet breath, prayer, or a grounding thought) to move from fear to a clearer, kinder mindset.
  • Try to hold both facts and goodwill together: act responsibly while keeping compassion and trust.

Reflection Question

What simple step helps me shift from fear to calm right now?
